Bainbridge Swim Meet Oct 14, 2006

On Saturday, October 14, we (Jim, Jim, Nick, and I) travelled across the Puget Sound to paricipate in the swim meet on Bainbridge Island. It was a very small meet, and we got many blue ribbons. Of course, this is due to the fact that there were only a few swimmers in each age group!! Hey, but a blue ribbon is a blue ribbon. Since there were four of us, we were able to enter the relays which won their age group.
At the end of the meet, there were a couple of fun relays. It wasn't done by team, you just signed up on the sheet and it was a chance to participate in a relay even if you didn't come with a team and it was a chance to meet others at the swim meet who ended up on your relay.
Meets are a good time to get feedback on details to practice.
Jim gave me some stuff to work on. This includes:
1) keeping my feet in the water during fly,
2) keeping low on the breast turn,
3) reaching out more with my right hand on free and not splashing,
4) and reaching out and getting the full length on the stroke on breast stroke.
